Current: I am a fifth year PhD student (Computer Science) at North Carolina State University, advised by Dr Muhammad Shahzad. My primary research interests are in machine learning and signal processing. My recent publications include:

Internships: This summer, I worked at Meta (Facebook) as an SWE intern. I designed deep learning models for notiļ¬cation ranking, which provided both offline and online improvements. In addition, I worked on various parts of the ML piepline including feature engineering, model training and validation, and online A/B experimentation. Prior to that, I worked as a research intern at Nokia Bell labs and machine learning intern at Koko Home.

Past: I got my Bachelors degree in electrical engineering from National University of Sciences and Technology (Pakistan). During my bachelors, I interned at Google Summer of Code, and worked on an open-source Python package stingray. Immediately after completing my Bachelors degree, I did a research internship at International School for Advanced Studies (Italy), and developed interactive tools to explore word associations in Italian language.

  1. Aug 2022 . Several media outlets including Washington Post, Axios, and Fox News covered our work on measuring political biases in different email services.
  2. Aug 2022. Completed my internship at Meta (Facebook), and returned from Seattle to Raleigh.
  3. July 2022. Our work on contactless monitoring of PPG using radar got accepted in IMWUT. I will be travelling to Atlanta in September (2022) to present it.
  4. Jan 2022. Our work on estimating soil moisture using RF signals got accepted in Mobicom. I will be travelling to Sydney, Australia in October (2022) to present it.
